the first bl that i read wasn't a bl at all (if fanfics are not considered as bl) it was a very popular bokuaka fic called "In Another Life". but the thing is, this story got me into shipping fandom for the very first time and later discover the boy's love genre.

imma be honest with y’all, I was probably around 14 at the time. both my older sister and my older brother are into anime and Japanese culture, they’re both otakus, so of course I was VERY influenced. one day I borrowed my older sister’s hard disk (basically like a bigger memory card) so I could copy some anime to my PC (well the family PC). ...... reply

As a kid, I asked the question "what does two guys kissing look like", and since I was into anime I searched for anime dudes kissing and found that alongside a bunch of drama CDs and YT yaoi manga scans.
