I have no idea why people do this. I believe it because being homosexual has because an increasingly more popular thing in media. Nowadays, it far more accepted to be gay than it would have been in the 90´s (which is a good thing don't get me wrong)

I think anyone can read whatever they want to read. As long as you keep in mind that being respectful of any relationship is important too. A genre is just a genre so I think it’s crazy that one is hated on because it sexualizes and badly romanticizes things.
