Rape in a totally fictional story is completely fine and the people who are bothered by it don't have to read it. I'm confused as to how this whole notion that all fictional rape is somehow promoting real rape even came to be. to me it just seems like someone didn't like it and decided that no one else was allowed to like it either.

Based on all the replies that I read saying that portraying rape in Yaoi is subconsciously promoting the notion that rape is ok in reality-I'm just wondering how do you making that connection? In the real world, there is no actual consensus on what is rape so that one can clearly state, "This is wrong in the real world but is okay in fiction." I know some might not agree, but this is fiction.
