This is more of an overall pet peeve. I hate the way author's in BL sideline female characters. The girls that get abandoned, made out in front of for ~the drama~ of it all, etc. More female friends & sisters for BL leads please! reply
Rape and toxic relationships in yaoi is the norm unfortunately. That's why I prefer shounen ai stories, since they're the ones who seem to be trying to tell a story instead of just being porn.
Because at the end of the day, that's the difference. Shounen Ai are love stories whereas yaoi has a 30% chance of being a well written porn and 70% chance ...... 2 reply
I hate incest in yaoi, in every forms : father/son or brother(s)/brother(s), even if they are not blood related, maybe even more when they aren't blood related, that's such hypocritical. As if when you're not blood related, it could be acceptable to fuck someone from your own family.

I do agree with you a lot and I also hate how stereotypical the characters are. Like there's usually a bottom who's main trait is that he's a bottom and a top who's main trait is that he's a top. And of course bottoms are really effeminate, shy and submissive while tops are manly, cool and dominant.
