I've never watched gay porn but I have watched heterosexual porn and erotica and its not as aesthetically pleasing to me. Yeah the people in porn could be attractive, but i prefer the aesthetics presented by drawings.

Yes it's normal. We latch onto different things in yaoi than just the sex. We're latching onto the emotions, the story and relationship between two people.
