I read on my phone or on my laptop, so I don't have a physical copy. In a way, much safer. My brother usually come and look at my screen without me inviting him, when that happens I change tabs and close the yaoi, only to open it again when he leaves, of course. I look for good art and some depth to the story. So not only just the usual love/hate or childhood friends stories, I look for some that aren't cliche but kinda complicated (with a dash of regret). The smut is a bonus ++ reply
The combination of pacing, art style, and character expression that fits the story. I believe no matter what the story is, as long as those 3 aspects is great, the manga will come out great. reply
For me, my friends and family know that I will read any manga (and watch any movie) as long as it's a masterpiece kind of work. So if I tell them I read yaoi manga they always assume it's some kind of artsy masterpiece thing (like Hagio Moto or Keiko Takemiya's work), little do they know most of I read is borderline porn. Lol I don't hide it so when ppl ask what I'm reading I tell them. My sister and brother both know I read BL/Yaoi stuff, so do some of my coworkers. I even told them I'd suggest some series to them if they are interested hahahha. reply
