Thoughts About Rape In Fiction

Who the hell came up with this dumbass question? Seriously, start interacting face-to-face with real live people. It really is so stupid, it’s hard to think up an answer that would be understood by you, but I’ll give it a try. Was there ever something you wanted? As simple as a piece of candy or a phone, and you thought about taking it? Stealin......   reply

I think as long as we aren't romanticizing rape and being desensitized about the fact that in real life its not an ok thing to do than it's fine. One, Yaoi is FICTIONAL so the rape of a character isn't real and it's ok to read that. I'd be a hypocrite if I said rape in yaoi is horrible because I've read scenes in yaoi and have been fine with it. I ......   reply

Manwhas have really been on the rise these past few years, and I have to say, as far as story lines go I believe they are ultimately better than traditional manga at this point, because manwhas are not just Korean comics, they have evolved from manga. By evolved, I meant they not only became longer story wise, they subverted typical manga tropes an......   reply

Well, you could have very easily omitted your personal thoughts on whether they are hypocritical or not and dived straight into the question but you chose to mention it. So it makes me question if your intent was to belittle them or to really find the answer to the question. Anyway here's my answer. It doesn't matter if it's the seme or a stranger ......   1 reply

hmm well you are right to some point most people aren't okay with rape in mangas at all from what I've noticed However they accept more easily the fact that seme rapes the uke and not some other guy I am not saying my personal opinion here I'm just stating what I've noticed and of course I might be mistaken I am not sure it's exactly hypocrisy, it......   2 reply

this is a fair argument. personally, i don't mind rape scenes in yaoi, since we all know that this is just a fiction, and if you don't mix fiction into reality then there won't be any argument in there. i guess for me, to those readers who hates those types of plots in a yaoi (or in any other genre) it's better if you don't just start reading it i......   reply

Sorry for my english. First rape is rape. If you have somehow experience in this specific sexual practice (I'm a straight woman) you know it's IMPOSSIBLE feeling any pleasure when you'd been injured : just try shred your leg with a knife and rub it and you could have an idea of what's happening. Obviously the time for recovery is long (plus you nee......   reply

I’m fine with rape, I honestly don’t give a fuck. I can read it and I don’t think much of it. I think that it’s ok as long as readers & authors don’t romanticise it or try to excuse the actions of the rapist- fictional or not. EG) “Oh, it’s ok because they like each other” or “it’s ok because he likes him” ... or when the aut......   reply
