Tbh, I don't want them to "come out". They should always feel open to talk about their sexuality and should never have had feelings about hiding it. To have them "come out" would make me think I didn't create a safe/open enough environment for them. 1 reply
I personally would support my child! My cousin came out to my aunt & let me explain both sides. Obviously my cousin was scared not because my aunt wouldn't understand but because they knew it would hurt the parent. Parents (at least most) have a instinct to protect there kids from harm. I find it that a fair amount of parents approach situations like this in a negative way and of course I would definetly accept him/her with open arms and demand meeting their partner [if they had one] lol. I think parents should be their child's number one supporter in these situations.

The most unforgettable experience for me is seeing everyone's face when I, a 14 year old at the time, 5'1 nerdy girl walked into the classroom filled with 18-20 something year olds and introduced myself as a new student.
