I had this crazy encounter with someone I just met. They looked like a guy, dressed like a guy, and had a super deep voice. I even complimented their outfit, saying "Hey man, where did you get that outfit?" and later told my friend how awesome "he" looked. Next thing I knew, they're accusing me of being homophobic for not asking about their pronouns first. I tried to explain that I assumed because they looked like a dude, but things quickly turned into a whole argument about pronouns and stuff. It got even more heated when they started implying that using "man" was offensive. It got me thinking - do pronouns really matter that much? LIKE WHAT SHE/HER DO TO YOURSELF IF YOUR TOO CONSCIOUS YOU HAVE A DICK oh + he look like homophobic because he's embarassing gay person on the way he act
I was ready to give some serious advice, but this shit is funny as hell.
In all seriousness express your intentions to your friend, like how you just wanted to make them feel better but ended up saying a distasteful joke that they didn't appreciate. Now that you know they don't appreciate humor when they're saying something serious say you'll neve...... reply
apologize bro, and also bring them their favorite snacks as a peace offering. cause ngl if my friend did that to me, I would stop taking to them too. reply
They were serious about venting to you so they probably werent in the mood for it and probably thought you were makin fun of them (・´з`・) Though it would be better to apologize and say that wasnt your intention and thought it would lighten them up
(P.S it was funny though but not at that kind of conversation) reply
my friend was venting to me about how insecure they were and I wanted to lighten the mood so I told them "your insecure? must be the work of dark reunion" cuz I thought it was funny but now they won't talk to me WHAT DO I DOOOOO
