Eh...this is completely normal human behavior. It's the same as theorizing about celebrities and shit when you don't actually know them, they're essentially just characters you're projecting your own desires and beliefs onto.

I understand what you mean, but sometimes, I feel like readers understand characters more deeply than authors themselves, like sometimes, authors unknowingly write characters deeper and more complex then they want them to be so they may make them do things that we as readers wouldn’t expect the character to do because we can understand them more ...... 1 reply
Sometimes I read comment sections debating about a fictional character being like “she would never do this… she’s just mentally depressed and I feel like she’d be the type of person to keep things to herself…” and then I realize that we’re all just discussing the non-existent personality of a character that an author has written. Like at the end of the day it’s just a drawing on a screen. I don’t know how to explain it
They're all doomed in some sort of way, you only see what they want you too see about them so its not a fully transparent relationship, they could be a terrible person and you'd never know because they tie the good parts together and cut out the bad, that does happen irl too but it's much harder to hide 1 reply
