Why do people like omegaverse / ABO?
I'm not trying to be rude, just asking this out of curiosity. I personally don't like omegaverse stories at all (mostly just because I prefer cute, fluffy and/or realistic stories + there's usually a lot of noncon involved with heats), but I've noticed that omegaverse is really popular. Is it because people find the "heat" thing hot? Mpreg? I honestly want to know your opinions!
Because we as humans are becoming negative soul mates and marriage dont really last anymore. BUT if we add in science and body chemical reactions and other made up nonsense we can pretend that soul mates and a more solid forever exist.

I love omegaverse for the same reason I love watching anime and reading manga. It’s an escape from reality and it’s interesting to see a different world from our own. It’s like enjoying fantasy and sci-fi. “Hmm what would it be like if humans had animalistic needs?” “What would it be like if men got pregnant too?” It breaks the gender...... reply
It’s not necessarily hot or a kink but it adds more themes to be explored. Often in yaoi they fuck, the end. There’s nothing more to explore except maybe s&m or specific kinks. Mpreg adds stakes. 1 reply

I originally was totally against reading it but i mainly started because i read a lot of fluff where the two characters weren't able to have kids or had to keep their relationship hidden from their family/ weren't able to have an actual wedding. It's very unrealistic but it most of the time normalizes mlm relationships and gives a chance for couple...... reply

The simple reason why I hate omegaverse is the rape. Rape everywhere. And the fact that omegas can go into heat spontaneously it's all the more reason why I'm weary of it. reply
