FICTION VS. REALITY

All right I haven’t really based a 100% opinion on either side of these arguments. And I believe the whole “fiction affects reality” argument should stay out of the conversation when arguing either sides.

YES fiction DOES affect reality BUT to an extent. Fiction can inspire anyone as far as to trying out for a new sport, developing fears, or murdering someone in “copy cat way” HOWEVER, just because fiction inspired a type of murder it was not the cause of that person to commit murder. Fiction does not cause a pedophile to act on a child, a person to commit murder, cause someone to be racist.

And let me address propaganda before I continue. Propaganda did not cause racism or misogyny. Humans are very judgeful by instinct and love familiarity between themselves and this explains the race vs. race, women vs. men, rich vs. poor, booksmart vs. streetsmart, abled vs. disabled etc. Propaganda gives
whatever side it’s promoting a boost of validation of their group and they just feed into it. It doesn’t really shape opinions it moreover enforces the ones they already had.

And for people bringing up the jaws effect and slender man girls. Hell yeah humans are gonna be scared of sharks after they saw them gobbling up people like chicken nuggets. Humans have always been known to get rid of or kill something they don’t know or fear. When you see a bug that’s doing nothing to you in your room don’t you kill or get rid of it? Same thing with the sharks, the sharks weren’t doing anything but cause they were deemed scary and humans don’t like scary they want to get rid of them asap. And the slender man girls case used slender man girls case as a scapegoat to justify their murders. When in reality both the girls had untreated schizophrenia and the slenderman creator even came out and said the game never told people to kill others.

Stop using fiction as a justification for why pedos/rapists/murderers commit their crimes. They had their disorder/mindset in their head before they even reached for the fiction.

Ok so this has been a heavy topic recently on twitter and TikTok In the anime/manga community. A lot of nsfw creators get harassed for the content they make especially in bnha and haikyuu fandoms. Honestly I think the harassing should stop especially when it’s coming from a minor when the creator tags all their stuff with 18+ because they specifically don’t want a minor to see it.

At the end of the day yes all these characters are fictional, they do not have rights nor feelings and no one gets harmed. A nsfw of bakugou did not cause a pedophile to rape a child.

I don’t like the sexualization of REAL people though. Especially in kpop communities where they make fanart/fanfics fetishizing gay relationships including real people. Ppl did that with one direction and it made their friendships awkward. Real people are being affected in this situation not anime characters.

And for the people who attack yagami yato supporters using “why would you support someone who makes 18+ content of minors even if she ages them up” even if the person only listens to her hawks audios or sfw content, it just sound really hypocritical of me to the people who support the anime and mangakas that do it. Btw I don’t consume yagamis content the clapping just doesn’t do it for me but I respect her hussle. She’s literally making around 15k-20k+ a month solely on patreons.

I think it’s ok as long as the characters are aged up and don’t look prepubescent. some ppl don’t look at the anime characters with age cus sometimes it’s not even specifically mentioned. Unlike with real life I’m pretty sure they know if they’re an adult not to get with a minor. Age has always been not really matchy matchy with anime. Bisky is like 50 but looks 10. And Elaine is like 1000 but looks 5. Baki and jojo are 17 but look late 20s. So like it’s ok to lewd Elaine and bisky cus theyre legal age?
