the reason it's called mulan is bc it's more historically accurate to the original folk tale that the animated film was inspired by. it was probably made to bring more cultural awareness to their folklore. im not watching it either and i know the chinese government/main actress is terrible but as a chinese american your statement is still pretty fu...... 2 reply
I heard "Mulan: Rise of a Warrior (2009)" and "Matchless Mulan (2020)" are better than the Disney version. I haven't watched them, BUT i do like that those movies have a Chinese director and Chinese writers while the Disney one just seems to have Chinese/Asian American actors. EXACTLYYYYY I mean it seems that they aren't even trying to put out a good message to their audience. Like this Mulan is FREAKING PERFECT. I'm not kidding, but she really is shown to be perfect and badass from the day she was born. There is no character development because she literally doesn't need it.
