Taking virginity too seriously or too lightly?
First things first, I lack both sympathy and empathy, so I apologize beforehand if I end up offending people.
So really I'm wondering if I'm taking virginity too seriously or other people are just taking it too lightly. As I was growing up I was always told that virginity was really important and it should only be lost to the one you love. I'm assuming it's because of this I believe you should wait until you're married.
I'm horrified seeing tons of people lose it when they're a teen, just 'experiencing', or before they're married. In all honesty, I'm disgusted and don't have very good opinions about those people. I could never understand why you would do such a thing, even if you use protection there is still a chance of pregnancy. Although the chance is very low, you still can't pretend it's 0...
Plus, usually they break up anyway, then when they do find the right person they no longer have it. Is it just not as important as I thought it was? However, I am obviously still aware that you can still divorce even after marriage but I don't know...
Again, I apologize that this came out harshly but it's my honest opinion, not trying to fight with anyone or anything. I just want others thoughts on this.
I think it's better to save for marriage, just in case of a baby comes up, and I had a bad trauma about sex but it's reallt up to u and ur beliefs or comfort really. I waited until I was 22 and with my fiancee because it was more comfortable for me and I'm not really the type that wants to... taste all the fish in the sea (tbh I think sex can be qu...... 1 reply
Hmm, I see why you think it's best to wait until marriage (I have a friend who thinks so too), but I really do believe the whole "marrying virgin" thing is heavily romanticised, and I'd like to warn you before you make that decision (again, totally up to you).
Sexual compatibility /is/ important in romantic relationships (well, unless you and/or yo...... 1 reply
I have the same mindset as you. I am always shocked to hear when people lose their virginity as a teenager (although I am not against having sex before marriage). I think it was just the way I was raised. My parents are Indian, and in India it is pretty much mandatory for a girl to remain a virgin before marriage (this is so stupid and the sexism i...... 1 reply
I don't value virginity as I think that if you want to have some fun, have it. What you do with your body is your choice. Waiting for 'the one' or marriage to have sex doesn't seem like a bad thing, but what should matter more is the first time you do it with THEM and not your first time ever. Virginity shouldn't matter as much as it does, like eve...... 3 reply
I am a completely hopeless romantic so I'm always a little sad when I read romantic manga that portrays characters who have found "the right one" after they've lost their v-card. I feel the same when I hear stories like this in real life, even if sometimes they have no regrets losing their virginity to someone they don't love.
I don't consider myse...... 1 reply
Honestly, i also have similar mindset as you, tho not as far as being disgusted. I find it very peculiar that some people act like virginity is like a disease that they have to get rid of, especially during the teens. Some regard virgins as not being normal(?). I feel like sex should be more special and meaningful with the right person. I feel like...... 1 reply
The most important thing is not to give in the pressure.
Sex is something very intimate and it´s important to do, what you want and not what
other people expect you to do.
If you want to wait for the "right one", do so. Ignore the people who offend you because of that.
If you want to have sex, do so. Don´t think you are a whore if you like sex. ...... 1 reply
I hear what you are saying, and I am curious, do you expect your partner have them same view as you regarding sex? Will you only consider someone if they have never had sex before because you share the same opinion on sex? 1 reply
In my country virginity is an important thing and generally people are overreacting when they meet non virgin unmarried ppl so its not easy to lose your virginity in this kinda envoirnment.
For me, sex should make with love of your life. So you should wait until you get marry with someone you have loved 'cause ppl always think that they find lov...... 3 reply
