I was introduced to yaoi by my daughter in my late 40's. Fell in love with it after watching Junjou Romantica. I'm 52 now and just wondering how many other "mature" yaoi lovers there are here.
Without admitting too much, let's just say that I've been reading for close to a decade and I'm closer to your age than probably 90% of the reader base... :P I've been to Japan twice, but I still order my books online because I'd feel so creepy standing at a counter as an obviously over 30 adult foreigner with an armload of BL... lmao! reply
Almost 30! I think a lot of yaoi readers skew fairly young, as in mid to late teens, so I'm interested in hearing from the more mature crowd, too! 2 reply
Am 42. Nice to meet other mature yaoi readers :-) Always been a fan of Japanese anime and culture, going on almost 40yrs now. But i only started reading manga about a year ago, so now i am trying to catch up on all the animes i loved in manga format. I do wonder what age I will stop reading manga or watching anime lol reply
