i'm wondering, am i the only one who cares about the sex of authors? this sounds sexist af, but i usually only like to read things by men. if i see it's by a woman, i don't wanna read it anymore. it has nothing to do with the quality of their writing - i've seen many things written by women that are way better than things written by men. but i still have this hangup, and i've had it for years. it's literally the only reason i don't read yaoi (other than the romanticized rape and heteronormalization and stuff). and the weird thing is that in any other field - politics, medicine, etc - i think women can be just as capable as men. but when it comes to manga and books in general, i gotta avoid them
i really don't care what the author's gender is, i just let the work speak for itself
now that's kinda sexist if you ask me, since you're just basing it on the fact that they happend to be women, they're just as capable i believe you already know that from a logic point of view
