What age were you when you started reading yaoi and how long have you been on this train ride?

I'm 26 and I've been into this stuff for a good 12/13 years now.
I found about it when I was a 12 year old in 2004 on a message board for a video game called "Tales of Symphonia" where some of the fans there would ship male characters together. At the time though I was somewhat shocked that people would so this, plus I disliked the concept of shipping "non-canon pairings" in general. And most disgusting of all is that people would even ship the main character with his biological father! (Ironically this now one of my biggest fetishes lol)
It was about a year later though when a friend showed me "Yami no Matsuei" and "Loveless" where it finally dawned on me that two guys could make a viable couple with chemistry. Eventually it led me to seek out yaoi fanfiction and doujinshi of stuff like Final Fantasy 7 and Yu Yu Hakusho, now the rest is history.

Looking back my tastes in guys and ships have definitely evolved over the years though. They've gotten older and manlier looking generally. I eventually started to prefer bottoms who are bigger (or at least taller) or older than the top. Also incest is hot af, though I can't remember when that happened. As I've become more comfortable with my libido over the years I've gotten more sex centered and generally don't care for the stories in BL unless it's guaranteed to lead to porn or really good. Just show me my husbandos' asspussies getting put to good use and I'm fine.
