Major turn off in a manga?
hellooooooooooooo im here to ask you a question about a major turn off moment/thing in a manga/manhua/manhwa that make you just straight nope out from the manga.
i know a lot of you probably going to say rape and pedhophilia, but i want to know something other than that. like age gap or bdsm or something.
for me, its a THREESOME. i could never feel the "love" in a threesome relationship, so the moment i see a threesome tag, i just go back and look from something else.
a dead lover as a rival is bad too, but sometimes i could tolerate it.
When the uke is too weak and girly and DUMB like WTH get some grip or smth and i really want to get into the manga just so that i can knock some sense into their head smh 5 reply
Yeah, the weak, annoying ukes or the semes with no substance acting cocky. If the story is straight boring, there's too much emotionless sex, or the characters are shallow and not realistic then I'll drop the manga. TONAL INCONSISTENCY. If I'm reading garbage, I want it to be a *hot* steamy pile of garbage on FIRE. I can take anything on (except, honestly, way too young characters).

Apart from rape and pedophilia? I almost always finish manga once I start it no matter what. It's a difficult question to answer, since every element that irritates me in most manga is, in rare cases, done well.
The only hard nope for me is incest between immediate blood relations. Or really bad writing, which I guess goes without saying.

destroying a character (frequently the second lead) just to give incentive to the readers to root for a particular character (case in point: the main love interest); especially if the so-called second-lead is so much more interesting as a character than the main one.

Overly tiny and childish ukes are my greatest turn off. I know some people love those ukes who just look like boys, but I feel weird when reading a manga in wich I can tell by the looks who is the seme and who is the uke - like in junjou romantica and sekaiichi hatsukoi, I just can't handle how the ukes and semes seem to belong in different castes....... 1 reply
