Why is it always the rapey and generic BL that’s so hyped
Um I’ve honestly always had this question for a long time cuz in my opinion Love is an illusion, Painter of the night, Killing Stalking, Bj Alex, Titan’s Bride all have such bad plot and they’re somehow still rated 9.5+?? I literally don’t get this rating system and the bad ones are always the most popular ones read. Some of them are even getting animated like tf why are they animating these ones instead of actually good shonen ai/yaoi.
Uhm, because maybe someone likes them for some reasons? I liked killing Stalking. I like dark, fucked up and angst plots. The others well...I like painter of the night but it became boring. That's it. reply
'Cause everyone apparently has seriously shitty taste. And that's not even touching the fact that those titles are full of rape and/or attempted rape, abusive/toxic relationships, and that last one's MC literally hadn't even finished high school yet. reply
I've read alot of rapey bl that if the story starts off with sex I automatically think the seme or uke got raped, but Killing stalking was amazing. I honestly don't like rape that much but some people prefer it anyway (it does make a good plot if it's for horror or psychological uses). reply
Hmm... Romanticizing rape & other non-consensual acts is a horrible trope in BL that needs to stop. But sometimes a story includes rape because it is a drama, thriller or horror and it just touches upon heavier topics. Killing Stalking and Painter of the Night are definitely examples for that. I think, perhaps if you read these manhwas with the exp...... reply

all the webtoons/manhwas u mentioned have a great story if u ignore the INITIAL rape scene in the beginning..
if rape=bad plot then mangago wouldnt exist cuz ill bet my cats that 3/4th of the yaoi mangas here have forced seggs/non-consensual seggs/etc....
yes...irl rape is a big issue and we should stop fetishizing/romanticizing it
