Does anything popular get called overrated just because it's popular?
Just curious on people's responses. I see a lot of people bring this up? Is something only called overrated because it's popular? Are some popular series actually overrated in your opinion?
By definition, something popular appeals to a majority and by definition, a majority is mediocre. Not exceptionally good or bad. Therefore, on average, what appeals to a majority is mediocre yet it is hailed as exceptionally good, hence the reason why it is called overrated. reply
