start with a little tragic start like the death of a family member, continue with some fillers, stir in some plot, add a dash of trauma, and a cup of sexual tension. Grab another page and add a dump truck full of angst, plot convinence, and more death. Also add some sprinkles of scenery here and there to keep things intresting.
