If someone told you they wished they never met you or something like they were better before they met you and they apologized for it after a few days, months or years and said they didn’t mean it or it was just because they were just drunk or frustrated at you at that time. Would you still be able to forgive them?
Do I even have the right to forgive them after what they’ve just said?
Depends on how many times they said something close to this. I'm forgiving but I'm not the merciful kind.
Months and years later? Wow it's really nice of them to think what happened before every single day making space in their memory to feel the guilt reply
Hmm...forgiveness isn't a "should." In the end, they said or did something that hurt you. Your feelings are valid, too.
Plus, what does a person want from our forgiveness? To feel less guilty? To ease their shame? To ease the hurt they caused us?
