Just because it's tragic, it doesn't mean it's wrong.
I agree with the fact that sometimes you want to read happy stories with happy characters having happy endings, but IF a GL/BL story is tagged as angst, tragedy or dark, and throughout the chapters is SO CLEAR is going to end up in a sad-ending, why do you even complain to the author showing off the LGBTQ+ card? I'm sorry, but I'm an author myself, I like drama and angst, and regardless of the type of love I'm writing about (straight, gay or lesbian) I have the right to choose the ending I prefer for the story, whether it's a happy or sad one. You can complain that you wanted a happy one, but at a certain point, if you're reading something tagged as dark, tragedy or angst, you should at least expect it. Authors have the right to choose their own ending, and they don't have to get bashed for it (unless it doesn't make sense, then you can criticize it).
I agree so much on this, everyone always gives shit to psychological horrors that happen to have a queer abusive couple because it was toxic and wasnt a cute lovey dovey story, like tf you expect if its literally a horror? I see so much bitches rating good stories like that a 1 because the couple was toxic and the scenes were traumatic or fucked up...... 1 reply
