Trans women in sports
A lot of people are really against trans women participating in women’s sports and I think that’s hella dumb because I’m bilt like a giant tank and I do naturally have high levels of testosterone but I’m still allowed to participate in women’s sports because I was born in the right body also i as an athlete don’t give one fuck about about the body of who I’m competing against because they gonna lose anyway tbh I feel like it’s a bit transphobic and misogynistic because I feel like those people are saying cis women can’t compete with men which make me mad also I feel like it’s kinda trans phobic because to me I feel like their calling trans woman men
If you're amab you do have certain advantages that afabs don't have.
A good example is the bodybuilder Janae Marie Croc who is a transwomen but still competes in weightlifting competitions with other amab/cis men.
I myself am trans and I do not believe that that is transphobic.
Of course I'm not an expert, I don't know how transpeople who transitio...... reply
Its neither discrimination nor transphobia its just biology, there is a reason sports is split up into men's and women's competitions.Women in general have lower muscle mass than men,men tend to have more muscle fibers and tend to be stronger in strength. So in sports if a man and a woman each in their best caliber were to compete against each other,...... 3 reply
mmmmm, idk, I don't want to offend anyone but I'm just gonna tell it to you straight:
GENERALLY, men are naturally stronger than women. Not to say there are not spectacular women that can compete with and win against men of course, but let's face it, that's generally the case, since they're built different.
So if someone was BIOLOGICALLY born male...... 5 reply
Can you guys stop? i don't care where you stand on the subject? imagine a closeted trans girl coming on here reading gl/bl so that she can escape from transphobia irl and in the media. and then seeing all those topics about her? can you guys STOP !!! reply
I see a lot of people here making uninformed statements about trans athletes/biology. People don’t seem to understand more than surface level why male athletes and female athletes have different categories. First I’d like to say the reason why men perform at a different level than women in sports is due to testosterone and how it affects the bo...... 2 reply
Men having generally greater physical strength =/= men being "superior physically in every way". Which is something men coast on and always claim is true. Women are, again generally, more flexible and better with fine motor control. There's a reason why Olympic events like floor gymnastics and ice dancing are more popular with audiences when women ...... 4 reply
personally, i don't think it's being misogynistic and transphobic at all, it's just being fair. no matter what anyone thinks, there's a reason why males and females have different leagues. if biological males were allowed to play in females' sports, majority of them would be won by biological males. just like if transmen were to play in biological ...... 1 reply
Men might be natural stronger than women but strength isn’t all you need to be a proper athlete you also need speed agility endurance and last time I checked smaller things move faster also women’s bodies are much more agile than men’s also women’s pain tolerance is high than men’s allowing them to be able to endure much more than men soo...... reply
