was this normal?

saw another topic about parents on here, so i'll share my story.

when i was younger, it was my mom and dad. my mom and dad were both young parents, and had to take care of 5 kids, so it was stressful, which is something i can understand. after my dad died when i was around 9 or 10, things got stressful for her too.

something i cant understand is whether the things my mom said and did to me were normal. when she would get angry with me, she'd say things like "i'm going to bash your head into the wall," or "i'm going rip your hair out," or "don't make me grab you by the hair,". i was around 7 and 8 when these things were said. my mom is one of those parents who hits their kids. no matter how many times she says now, today, that she hates hitting her kids, she still did it alot.

not to mention even today, she calls me a bitch when she gets really angry, or grabs me by the hair when i get in trouble. she once bit my knuckles and scratched my arms to get my phone when i was 12, which i can admit i was trying to hold it away from her. i can't recognize if this is just punishment or not for when i get in trouble. i've never done anything so horrible, like doing drugs or sneaking out. most of the time, she gets mad when i use my phone at night.

someone please tell me. i dont think she's abusive, but maybe these are things she shouldnt have said and did?
