yaoi phase
is anyone else slowly getting out of their yaoi phase? i feel like i've seen it all already nothing is interesting and it's all bland. not saying i wouldn't read shounen ai anymore it's just idk i've grown to be kinda indifferent to yaoi compared to how i used to read it really often. i'd like to know y'alls opinions though
I totally get what you mean. After too many years of reading yaoi we found out that there's the same plot every 5 mangas and the same tropes, so you get tired of it. Unless you like some specific tropes (like me) you'll get tired of it real soon. That's why when I discover a new manga that reminds me how I felt the first time I started reading the ...... 1 reply
I wouldn't say I had a yaoi phase since i jump from different genres and media and go back to them once they catch my interest again, but from my experience I usually got tired of yaoi whenever a different genre starts catching my eye for example rn for the past few months I've been addicted to isekai.

I see alot of people saying there getting tired but I think it depends what you read there are differents types/ genres within yaoi and it all depends on the reader. Though they may have a similiar plot I just like the rollercoaster of emotions and each author can bring in there own personality. As well as depending on you only looking for modern ...... reply
I'm kinda getting out of it but I'm still reading a lot of BL novels. Yaoi manga though, I have been reading less as it's not as great as it has been before. I still read quite a bit of yaoi manga yet I prefer to stick to BL novels. I wouldn't be surprised to see myself reading a lot less yaoi manga this year. 1 reply
