anti fujos
i’ve been scared to state my own personal opinion about this topic but fuck it. be prepared for an essay. yes, we are all entitled to our own opinions. especially on the topic of “bl”. but what i will never understand is when an anti fujo says shit like “fujoshi means a fetishizer” and i KINDLY ask for the source of where it states that (because there fucking isnt) they either don’t respond, BLOCK me (blocked by anti fujos x2), or will literally take information out of their asses and USE that during a discourse.
listen, if you’re an anti fujo and say shit like “read shounen ai not yaoi” your argument is automatically false because if you use terms that DO NOT exist i refuse to listen to whatever else you have to say. or when you spread false information or categorize all cishet women or even women in general that read bl, i will not listen to you. especially when youre a “weeb” yet contradict japanese culture.
also this has to be said. anti fujos can be just as toxic as problematic fujoshi’s. now, i will personally never label myself as a fujoshi because it was never my word to reclaim in the first place, but when many anti fujos take it to the EXTREME and send literal death threats to children, tell them to off themselves, and try using the word “fujoshi” as a insult against them— you’re the problem too.
yes, i will agree that many fujoshis/fudanshis out there are very problematical and NEED to be called out on their bullshit, but pls for the love of god do not generalize all of them. it ALWAYS depends on the person, never the label. instead of cyber bullying them off social media because of their insensitive behavior, why not educate them on *why* their conduct was an act of fetishization?
another thing, when i was in a discourse with an anti fujo on the topic of bl and my arguments were extremely valid, wanna know what they said to me??? “does it turn you on thinking about me fucking a guy?” i—wanna know why they said that?? because they didn’t have anything to say. they blocked me. and reported my account.
if you say “women shouldn’t be making bl, it’s a problem” do you have a problem with given? yuri on ice? no.6? classmates? orenchi no fujo? no? k then. yes, many bl’s out there made by women can promote toxicity and the sort. HOWEVER, there are also many bl’s out there that are the complete opposite.
if you’re an mlm and feel discomfort because women read bl that is completely fine. you’re opinion is very much valid
