serious advice (lgbtq pride)
so my friend, who's a lesbian, asked me to go to pride with her but seeing with this whole corona i'm not sure if it's still happening but i said yes anyways. it's not that i feel uncomfortable because i support the lgbtq but because i'm straight i thought i might feel out of place and i don't want to make it seem as though i feel uncomfortable because this is the first time my friend wants to go and she doesn't have anyone else to go with and i want her to feel comfortable and happy. sorry if this sounds really ignorant and stupid but is it okay for a straight person to attend pride? it's okay if that sounded ignorant you can bash me but i just needed to get this off my chest
Yes! It's totally okay for a straight person to attend pride! In fact, you'll find that everyone is very welcoming and appreciate you coming out to support your friend/ the lgbtq+ community. It's understandable that you'd feel nervous, but I think you're a great friend. Go to pride (safely, of course)! Have fun! You'll have a good time! reply
