Digital blackface
I’m not black so I don’t want to speak over black people’s voices but what do y’all think about digital blackface, I see this often in mangago and I feel uncomfortable towards it Here are websites that sum up what digital black face is and why it’s problematic:
White people pretending to be black people online: That's wrong
White people using memes with black people in it?: It's honestly not a problem
I don't see the need to gatekeep memes of all things. I'm even pretty loose with AAVE if it's not being used to directly mock black people. 2 reply
