Homosexuality used to be considered a mental illness in the past, and right now pedophilia is also considered a mental illness. As time passes by, will pedophilia also be accepted just like how homosexuality has been? When I came out, my homophobic brother said, "Why draw the line between homosexuality and pedophilia? Homosexuals can't control it, they were like that since birth, pedophiles are the same." And that really got me thinking about this topic.
From how I see it, pedophilia is harmful to society, because you're talking about sexual attraction to underaged individuals. Especially in western society, childhood spans 1-18 and often times longer with college and etc, at this stage these individuals are highly susceptible mentally and biologically and look to adults for helping understand the ...... reply
