People are misinformed about "submissive" or "bottom"
The other reason is that usually in mangas they(author) make the story like this. Especially in yaoi, 70% are made in the story to be embarrassed bcz they are a bottom/submissive or implying is a shame to enjoy being one. The bottom/sub is also usually made week, dense, defenseless etc.

I think many people shame them either because they are considered vulnerable or because being a submissive person in any sort of context is considered "imprisoning" and not being free.
