My parents think I’m a lesbian and I’m straight
My mom told me that both her and my dad think that I’m a lesbian because all of my friends are in the LGBT+ community somehow or another. I’m straight and I feel like I’ve told her so many times. She says I’m obsessed with gay people and it’s like no... I just like RuPaul’s Drag Race sometimes!
Also, not sure if this is relevant but I live in a conservative household and I thought my mom was pretty accepting but the more I listen maybe not.
Am I wrong to feel a little insulted that she doesn’t believe me?

Maybe it’s her way of being supportive and creating a safe heaven or something. Have you asked her why she thinks you are a lesbian, and if it would be so bad if you were (I know you aren’t though)? There could be an underlying cause like maybe her parents were strict or something. The only way for you to really know is to just aks her. B...... 2 reply
