UNSTANNED KPOP ARTISTS?
Which kpop groups or solo artists did you unstan or stop being a fan of and why?
For me, I stanned Wanna One members since predebut (pd101s2) but after they disbanded, their contract ended, and went solo, I couldnt stan all of them at once, though I still love them. BTS comes next. Coz of the huge toxic fandom, not surprising right. As a multifan, it pains me to see co-armys bashing and spreading hate on the groups i also am a fan of. im gonna say it, BEING AN ARMY IS NOT SOMETHING I COULD BE PROUD OF ANYMORE. Its actually embarassing to admit youre one, coz that means youre part of the most toxic fandom in kpop industry. Second reason why I officially unstan them is the CHANGE. Back in 2014, they are all about hip hop and swag and cool choreographies. It's like the BTS that I liked back then isnt there anymore.
You wrote about the bts fandom by saying they're one of the most toxic fandom but honey, the toxic ones are the ones you want to see, otherwise you would've found millions of army's that aren't toxic by one bit. Haven't "unstanned" any kpop artist but I became lukewarm towards BTS. I loved them ever since their debut with No More Dream, since I like those "dark" hip hop themed kpop (i usually stan the likes of Block B, M.I.B if u know them, B.A.P, Yoon Mirae, Epik High, etc). Armys aren't the most toxic fandom, i'd say blinks are. And to say "it's like the BTS that I liked back then isnt there anymore." says that you never really stanned them in the first place. I'm not a huge fan of kpop but i know that stanning a group means you'd always stay by them no matter what change they make and you would like them for them, no...... 3 reply
I am pretty new to k-pop because I consciously avoided it for years so I haven't ''unstanned'' anyone yet. I am currently a proud monbebe, carat and ARMY.
I am sorry to hear that one of your reasons for unstanning BTS is because of their following. There will always be more toxic people when the fandom has a larger and more active following than o...... reply
Never unstanned my group. If you were really in for the artist, for their music and for what they are passionate about then the fandom wouldn't even be a reason to leave. Same for me, BTS is the only group I unstanned. I was really a huge fan of them since I was in high school (now working) until their fandom became toxic, probably one of the worst out there. They kept on destroying other groups and was making fun of the demise of some artists. You see them everywhere, even in places that are not even related to the...... 1 reply
I've also unstanned BTS for basically the same reasons as everyone else, didn't like music direction or fans.
I unstanned NCT Dream about a year ago during NCT 127 Superhuman era. It was mainly the fans and every single attempt that they made to sabotage 127. Voting for other groups, spreading false rumours, blatantly hating on 127 right underneat...... reply
Oh wow, i didn't realise soo many people unstanned groups because of their fandom. People are saying army, exo-l, blinks are toxic. I just think that as groups popularity and fanbase grows there ought to be toxic fans mixed with good ones. With huge fandome of course there will be some toxic fans, its not even surprising anymore. Same, mine is also BTS. Although it's not I fully not stan them, it's just that I'm not as head over heels for them now as I was before. Yeah, though I don't listen to all their songs, I know that their music changed recently. Their music is still good and I listen to them sometimes but I just prefer their old ones reply
The second group I stanned was BTS. They were really awesome back in "fire" era, though I have never been a part of the fandom. I went to their tours in Europe because I love them but I become disappointed with their last album and tour. As for me, it's was rushed.
