Why do y'all feel the need to tell someone to off themselves?

I feel like death threats or something you should never do, it's a level too low to stoop for. And it says a lot if you do give them. Because I have gotten one before, from someone I knew in real life, and my school had to rearrange my entire schedule, and other stuff because of how scared I genuinely was.
