Advice for getting over a crush
Okay, so I've got a major crush on one of my coworkers (For clarification, I'm a girl in college, and he's a year or two older than me. Workplace is the only place we consistently interact). He's good looking, funny, easy to talk to, and we're into the same nerd stuff. I've never liked anyone like how I like him; I didn't think I could even like another person like that, but I still get butterflies just from seeing him, and it's been over a year now. I'm seriously hooked. The problem is, he has a girlfriend. And from the looks of it, they've been together a long time with no end in sight. She's pretty, and she's not dislikable at the very least. I can't hate her for finding him first, but I can't help but feel so jealous. I'm asking for advice regarding what to do. Confessing to him is likely going to put a strain on our work relationship and the friendship/camaraderie we've built, plus I don't want to actively interfere with his relationship life. I'm not even sure if he likes me the way I like him. But I can't help but feel so stuck between being happy for him and who he's with, and holding out hope that I have even the slightest chance with him. Do I give it up, or stick it out?
I'm no relationship expert, but I've had my fair share of 'white moonlight' lmao. I think the best thing to do here is rationalize your feelings and give up. Try to distance yourself from him and view him in an objective manner. Pursuing him or confessing while he's in a relationship will lead to a lot of tension and awkwardness if he says no. I don't even know if anyone follows this anymore but, hey, may as well update.
Well, I decided to stay as his friend, even though I liked him, because he really was fun to hang out with. We talked during work, hung out in groups together, told jokes, and it was nice.
Last October, he and his girlfriend broke up.
It really shocked me, because they ...... 3 reply
i know how you feel and i have some advise that worked for me. what i do is list the things that bother me about him/her, and if i start to get butterflies in the moment (like if you're talking to them) go over that list of things that you don't like about them. 1 reply
since he has a girlfriend, I would give up. but, if you like him as much as you say you do, then there's always the option of waiting for them to break up.
I would recommend you get over him by not seeing him, but since he's your coworker... well, unless you quit, I don't see that happening.
Personally, I would find a fuck buddy or find one nigh...... reply
I feel like the best choice is to just tell him how you feel about him in the most sincere way, and either get a rejection or a... uh idk the word.. acceptance?? skiosks my brain cells are dying by the day maybe don't take my advice, but from personal experience, i've played the long game before and it just ended with us beung friends and him never...... 1 reply
