Do you tip at restaurants?
Personally, when I know the restaurant pays their waiters/ waitresses the general minimum wage (above $8.25), then I don't tip (like California). Unless they gave great service, which is when I'll definitely tip.
But other than that, I don't see the point since they're already being paid to do their job. When I worked at an animal hospital, I was paid minimum wage ($8.25) as a vet tech. I always did my best to appease the patients/clients, and made sure they were happy and comfortable with my service. I went beyond my expected duties, which I didn't have to do and wasn't being paid extra for it. I did that to help as much as I can. I figured it was the same in restaurants.
Just going to say this, your servers in Cali will get pissed if you don't tip. In CA, I still tip because it is still customary and if you don't, well they are the ones handling your food and drink so... Plus, if you do some calculation, minimum wage is not enough for people to live off especially due to cost of living in certain area. Not sure whe...... 1 reply
