To those who like tragedy, why?
I tend to avoid tragedy with a 10 ft pole since I really don't like the sad feelings that linger but when I have, I am usually OKAY at most just a little teary. I had avoided tragedy for so long but I recently watched banana fish and it completely destroyed me. I bawled for the main characters and cried so much. I am thoroughly traumatized and vow to never go through such a painful experience again (dramatic i know, but I'm just very disheartened). But for those who seek it and enjoy tragic endings, why?
I don't really enjoy how it ends at a very sad tragedy.... But I read it because it's interesting to see how the characters progress and feel some of the emotions that they feel. It's also kind of refreshing to see a bad ending amidst the multiple cliche filled stories that end in such a great ending. I dunno, maybe it's just me but I like the char...... reply
I am by no means the biggest fan of tragedies. But I found myself seeking out good ones on more than one occasion and I'll say its probably because its cathartic. I'm not someone who really indulges in the feelings the tragedies bring out when you're reading, or watching them. So for me its a way to acknowledge those feelings which I otherwise don'...... reply
I'm a very sensitive person too and actually hate it that i am,, but in romance manga i dont like reading tragedy that much, (the ones that are just like oh the bf left and they havent seen eachother for so long or the bf died, not like that,, i enjoy the ones that have a psychological twist) for tragedy although i have read quite a few with very d...... reply
i don't exactly seek tragedy, but i definitely don't avoid it either. i think there are certain types of stories that, if they had happy endings per-say they would lose a lot of their emotional impact. tragedy can explore a thread of thought and ideas in a way that a happily ever after cannot.

tragedy is a genre that contains a lot of emotions and it is more enjoyable watching the suffering of others and how it is portrayed. For me i mainly enjoy genres that belong to the dark side such as tragedy and psychological. Well interests differ reply
