can lgbtq+ women stop preaching about straight women fetishizing gay men?
y'all are just as capable of fetishizing gay men as well. fyi, being lgbtq+ doesnt give you a free pass and y'all love to pull the "yaoi was founded by lgbtq+ women and they used it to express themselves reeeeee" yeah bc expressing yourself through r@pe fetishism between gay men is something to be proud of. big yikes. (the fact that yaoi esp. from pre 2010 era is known for its romanticism of r*pe is pretty creepy ngl). there is nothing wrong w consuming mlm content as a woman straight or not just dont be a creep about it. it's not hard. im all for addressing problematic behavior but lbr, lgbtq+ women are quick to call out straight women while simultaneously doing the same thing
I fully agree like it really doesn't become a problem until people start "shipping" real people together. I use that term loosely because I always say I ship my friend and her bf. anyways its an issue when its strangers and your imagination gets going (unless its porn than thats the point). thats when the creeping begins. if guys can watch yuri wit...... 1 reply
op, i'm confused? are you mad about wlw defending gay men or r@pe in yaoi or a completely incorrect post you saw about wlw creating yaoi or? also, im just wondering, but did you ever think that some of the wlw who criticize straight women for reading yaoi and fetishizing gay men, i dont know, dont read yaoi? like, why is this so generalizing? 1 reply
I'm not into labels but I guess I can say I'm considered lgbt+. And I absolutely have no problems with straight women liking BL. I encourage it! It opens empathy for relationships developed between 2 men and I always think it's amazing we all share the same sentiments that all relationships between humans regardless of genitals is beautiful. It's b...... reply
Did you find that here?
Seems weird. I only ever find that on Youtube or Facebook where the kids showed up post-lobotomy.
I'm a lesbian and have been a BL lover for hmm...don't know the exact amount of time but longer than a decade by far.
Most people here aren't that stupid. And everyone whining about the fetishization of people (any of them) do...... 1 reply
For me I only found those comments (no matter from men or women), annoying when they are very self-entitled, and there are lots here in mangago or tumblr. The kind where they say on obviously Yaoi books or comics: this isn't how gay relationship works, uke stereotype in yaoi is unacceptable etc etc...this author clearly doesn't know a thing about l...... reply
First, I’m sure it’s not just LGBTQ+ women. Many people, especially from historically oppressed groups, dislike being fetishized. It’s like black people who get criticized for having natural hair, but then whites adopt the same styles as a trend or make money off of it. It feels like a slap in the face somehow, so don’t be surprised if peop...... reply
I feel like youre lumping all yaoi/shounen-ai together here. As a queer person, theres a lot of shounen/shoujo-ai that I like because it almost, for a second, feels like im being represented. I connect with it more that "straight" romance (although there are a lot of "straight" romance comics that have wonderful representation: Gourmet Hound, for e...... reply
