It's my 29th birthday but none of my friends remembered or wished me a happy birthday
I feel like I have no friends, what should I do? I used to make friends in school or at work but I'm now working from home so I don't have many places to go and most of my hobbies are solo
I'm feeling really lonely and alone, is there anyway to make friends?

Taking up some activities around you (gym, swimming, sports, library, cooking, language courses, etc.) might help you make new friends. And if you're courageous enough, could try to come up to strangers n start a convo. Anyways, don't forget to enjoy yourself and have fun in everything you do!

In regards to your question about making friends, I recommend first taking a minute to think about what type of friend you want. Do you want a friend who shares your interests or someone you can talk to about random facts and emotions? If you want a friend who shares your interests I recommend just searching some groups online and seeing how you go from there. If you want someone to be there more emotionally than shared interest (hobby) wise then I recommend trying out face-to-face workshops of stuff you might want to try out (pottery, crochet, archery, etc.).
If you want a friend who you can talk to about emotional stuff but also talk about your interests (hobbies) and might be opposed to meeting people outside in any way then my only advice is to look for online groups in regard to your hobbies and finding people there that you don't dread/dislike talking to, start a conversation and then eventually try to become friends.
A reminder that online people are not always what they seem and no matter what (online and IRL) you should not trust someone right off from the start. Do not share personal info like your real name, face, address, etc. before being totally sure the person is trustworthy. Also if you want to meet a person from online for the first time in person make sure to meet in a public space with lots of people.
