I think it’s no surprise that bl/ yaoi contains a lot of taboo or problematic themes, but why is incest so common. I don’t even mean step siblings but blood relations. Like I don’t see the appeal and why so many authors would choose incest to be part or the central theme of their stories.
Hmmm, I wouldn't exactly know, but I think it's another some sort of a "forbidden romance" type of way. And because of guilty pleasure, I assume. I guess it also gives them a, I don't know, an exhilarating feeling knowing it's such a taboo topic and that what makes them come back for more. Another type of fetish.
