Bisexuality in Yaoi
Just wanted to ask you fellow fujoshis something. Do you guys ever hate it when in yaoi, they play the cliche "im straight but since I can do it with guys, im now gay" Like bitch no, you're bisexual (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ I honestly hate this tbh. What about yall?

Corrected answer:
No I don’t hate it but it could had been dealt with better. I can understand why this causes frustratio...... 2 reply
They usually don't explore the sexuality of the characters which is a shame. It's always the same pattern : The straight one falling in love with the same gender friend/nemesis and saying he's gay or "Not gay, just in love with one guy and it's you" and vis versa.
It's very hard to find a manga where the character is openly bisexual, or even when b...... 2 reply
fr it doesnt make sense. If they themselves say "Im actually gay, i thought i liked women but i dont" then yeah sure.
But if theyve liked women, still like women, but fall in love with a guy, that doesnt make them gay like bruh how does that make sense? so you change from straight to gay to straight everytime you change partner or sum? also, when ...... reply
I'm not a fujoshi cause I'm a dude but I definitely have an opinion. I hate that kinda shit. It kinda just shows how the people who write yaoi aren't really involved with/aware of the LGBT+ community past what they see from the way that the mainstream portrays us. Not necessarily a bad thing of course because ignorance isn't malicious. Doing resear...... 2 reply
What I find the most annoying is when a straight character falls in love with another guy but continues to identify as straight. They'll say something along the lines of "I'm straight, I just happened to fall in love with this particular person who's a guy". It happens in one of my favorite manga, Haru wo Daite Ita. After the two guys become a coup...... 1 reply
It's true that many yaois are built around the trope "straight guy turned gay", I guess that's kind of a fetish for someone (and don't forget: yaoi is basically porn). Technically you're right, saying such things is incorrect (it may seem realistic though if said by characters with a poor knowledge of LGBTQ stuff). Anyway, I think the definition of...... 4 reply
It bothers me a little, but I think I get bothered over the fact that their sexuality gets brushed under the rug so easily.
I think it would be really interesting if a story, any story would explore the “I’m only gay for you” trope in a more serious way. What it mean is that it may not be impossible for someone of a certain sexuality ( wheth...... reply
"im straight but since I can do it with guys, im now gay" I seen a few comments turned this into a straight guy falling in love with one guy.
Like with what the comment is asking, If a male character likes both men and women (somewhat) equally, they are more than likely bisexual. If a male character likes women and falls in love with O...... 3 reply
There are some cases of gay people in denial
But I do agree that authors should be more aware/knowledgeable about the other sexualities and genders and not just stereotypes. reply
As a bi person it annoys me so much! There's a time and a place where it CAN work, i.e. if the character was forcing themselves to be in relationships with girls and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working or if they never had any interest in girls to begin with and so they just assumed they were straight cause... you know, comphet. But otherwise...... 3 reply
