All the guideverse I’ve read is pretty shit. Usually its like this: Crazy strong S tier big dicked esper is so powerful no one can guide him, or is such a shit person no one WANTS to guide him. He loses control or whatever, and a NORMAL or GENTLE esper comes along and helps him but gets trampled over and basically gets caused a ton of pain from the esper. Recently read a story where its this exact plot, except the asshole is the guide and the doormat is the esper. They thought they did a “innovative” “different” story but no the fuck they did not. The “guide” is still more powerful than the lowly poor esper, and the guide proceeds to take advantage of them or whatever. Honestly this power imbalance dynamic across guideverse stories is so annoying and over used, I’ll read about 10 chaps, hoping the story turns out different somehow, but it’s a false hope because I usually drop it by then from the boredom and frustration the characters give me. Actually, the entirety of guiding itself is stupid. It reminds me of other verses like subdom/omega verse where there is a clear SHITTY power dynamic that’s just an excuse to draw an uke getting raped 24/7. I’m tired of seeing that shit. I wanna read something new, a new “verse” that makes things interesting not fucking assholes raping people “cuz of their nature” or whatever the fuck excuse these verses give. I’m not saying these verses should be discontinued, and I don’t particularly hate them. I’m just frustrated cuz of their constant copy and paste plot. Change my mind if you want to.

Just came up with a verse when I saw your post, I call it the shadow verse, so there will be angels and spirit holders, the spirit holders are rare (not super rare) people who have an evil energy/spirit inside their body, their body is a good vessel for negative energy, whether it be because of trauma, bad luck, an ancestoral curse or even the evil energy around them, as such they get sick (not sexual) contract unknown diseases, or go feral if the evil energy is left to grow, as such Angels are needed to stabilize or even more rarily eradicate the energy. Angels are people whose spirits are untainted and appear more pure and pleasing to they eyes of heavens, which can lead to the vessel soaking up divine energy, since this energy is the opposite and more powerful than evil energy it can help the spirit holders. If an angel hurts or damages the spirit holder and their evil energy grows the angel themselves receives divine punishment turning into evil energy or worse an evil spirit which can attach to a spirit holder making the spirit go feral in most cases or deathly sick, sometimes the spirit holder can take on the evil spirit without being deathly sick, but their physical and mental state will heavily deterioate until they eventually go feral, if another angel can step in before that, they can return to normal. n angel can be born, a person who does good deeds, a relative of a person who has a large amount of divine energy or have a blessing from someone in the heavens. I made the angel take more of hit since their powers can make the relationship a peer imbalance plus I like the idea of having not just being born a certain way but how the environment can impact you as well. What do ya think? I am just throwing things out there hahaha

Oh and depending on the severity of how much the angel hurts them, on a lower scale they lose their divinity and become a spirit holder instead.
