It’s honestly mentally draining to see so many children read this piece of garbage and defend everything the yaoi has to offer. You handled the situation well and the commenters who trashed on you are just young impressionable kids who are uneducated about these topics. Meaning you don’t have to waste your time trying to reason conversations with these kinds of people. I personally think you are totally fine and it is completely fair to criticize content in a respectful way. The whole thing of us reading on an illegal site doesn't really matter? I also think that you were in no way attacking this person. From the start you were just asking for an explanation hoping, it seems, for a discussion.
Personally I agree that if you didn't want to see criticism of a work you enjoy in fear of other's opinions spoiling the experience, then avoid the comment section that is inherently there to let readers give their opinion. The reason i said they had a victim complex is because they assumed they were being attacked because i criticised them a “victim complex” or “victim mentality” describes a personality trait of persons who believe they are constantly the victims of the harmful actions of others, even when made aware of evidence to the contrary. I made it clear i wasnt attacking them but they just kept thinking i was, i wasnt trying to be malicious when i said that i just thought it was ridiculous .
They way the said they were being attacked and kept using that as a point to ignore the entire argument is pretty embarrassing. And nothing about the reply gave any sense that you were attacking them, only trying to have an actual discussion on what their point was. But I mean obviously it wasn’t that important to them if they can’t even have a conversation about it without automatically being a victim the moment someone voices a different opinion.
