How to improve BL
Is there a way/trope/rule that you would add if you could that would fix a lot of BLs? I will go first, every Uke gets to be born with a fnaf spring lock mechanism up their ass that is triggered by rape/not consenting. So if the Seme even thinks of going there without the Uke’s consent, he’s gonna lose lil John forever :)
add meaningful conflict resolution instead of make-up sex as a way of ending a big fight between the main characters. more talking less fucking. 1 reply
I feel like developing a cure for cancer has a better probability than what you are asking, but the best approach to improve your BL experience is to keep an eye out for tags to avoid trashy yaoi and, of course, know the niche of the webtoon. 1 reply
Tbh bl "writers" are fetishizing porn artists, not actual writers. If they actually start focusing on the plot it might help. For tropes/rules that i would add is...having morals...the semes most of the time dont even consider that they have "raped" just like real rapists in the world...so yeah...they need to have basic social awareness about the l...... 1 reply
Just have more character development, focus on the characters more, and focus on developing their relationships more. Sex shouldn't really be used as the be all and end all of all conflicts. Give more importance on consent. reply
Maybe they stop oversexualizing, adding too much fan service, making uke basically a girl like why would another dude be shy/hide their faces when they remove their shirt, it’s pretty normal. idk but for me, bl should be like bromance but they’re romantically attracted to each other 2 reply
I read BARA as well and they don't look like they are trying to be realistic, tbh. Many queer writers mostly just want to have fun with the fiction that they write, the goal doesn't always mean having a 1:1 accurate representation of the queer experience. Which I feel like most people always expect of queer writers.
