Kinda getting bored of bl.....(rant) any body else feel
Listen, I liked most of it at first, heck I still read it. But now mostly for the art and if it sucks plot wise I just put it in my already read.
There have been too many times where I have rooted for the couple and then something horribly wrong happens in my stomach drops. Example would be when the semester is super healthy and kind at the beginning but one thing sets them off and there r*ping the uke or accusing them without talking.
There have been to many times where I've had to put down my phone to calm myself. It's ridiculous how most bl's normalize sexual assault and when he explains his back story its suddenly fine, like????
I love the art and I sometimes like the characters do but my moral compass can't overshadow on what happened before they became "healthy"(if you can even call it that).
Genuinely, I really want to some of these guys to leave each other. I want some of them to just never see each other again or find a way to never be present again. In a realistic world people will report things with this kind of stuff if it happened to them.
Or maybe I'm taking things to seriously... Idk you guys tell me. Can a good genuine bl story have little to no miscommunication, assault(both ways), unnecessary plot points, dismissing of toxic behaviors, or excusing actions because of a tough past? Tell me what you think.
Search for lists that other people have already made. Life saver when it comes to finding specific types of pairings or plots with how vague the tagging system is on here reply
Tbh, I get bored/tired of BL sometimes, too, and have taken various breaks because of this. But I get bored of any genre after I've read it for too long. I suggest reading something else from a different genre.
And about the SA being normalized in BL, it's so true. Like, I have dropped SO MANY BLs because of this. But I do want to point out that t...... reply
