Yes 1000%. With out fail every time something gets popular the general public will turn it into something it’s not. For example, I know ATLA was on nick when we were kids but nobody remembered what it was really about or talked about it until it was on Netflix. Depends. Food and music, nah just hope for the best. Beauty products and hacks, sure absolutely. Ex: Like when ppl gentrify shit. Like hiking up prices on hair products and skincare.
