Eggs are just female sex cells, but a chick need both male and female sex cells so it's more likely that there was first.

the egg :D bc there might have been an animal that is related to chickens and when that animal laid an egg, there may have been a mutation and boom, chicken.
And ig chickens were able to survive better (due to artificial selection?)
