Have you guys ever outgrown a friendship?
There is no drama or anything but it just ended
I have this one best friend I've known since kinder but I realized like a year ago that we aren't really similar anymore, we don't share the same humor, belief and personality anymore. Before I thought it's just a temporary feeling but now I realized I truly outgrown them. Before I cant imagine not talking to them everyday but now I don't mind not talking to them anymore and it feels weird ig someone who once a huge part of my life being not important anymore
Yeah its a bittersweet feeling. Im in 11th grade and have been reallt close with my friend group since 7th. We were all super close all throughout covid so our humour and personalities all formed together and we all really enjoy eachothers presense. Yes. Broken friendships used to be my top favourite 3AM topic to overthink about. Recently i have successfully let go of that habit of mine. Tbh once I felt the sparkle and magic with those people, i loved them, adored them. Many. It's normal. I'm kinda going through this too rn with a childhood friend. It's such a weird experience but like other friendships that I grew apart from; it's just how life is.

Yep, i have. While our situations are different, it is the same feeling.
I had a best friend when I was in primary, she moved roughly around the end of year 5 and we lost contact halfway through year 6. I was devastated but looking back now we did not see our friendship the same way, she was my bestest friend, I loved being around her n seeing her...... 1 reply
I moved around every few years so I never had a friendship last longer than 4 years. Outgrowing friends is normal, especially when you're growing up and forming your own thoughts and opinions separate from theirs. Doesn't mean it won't hurt or feel bad sometimes. It really hits home- how lonesome life can be when you, and all of the people you think you'll spend forever with, become adults with jobs and responsibilities. looking back through the memories with people you've lost touch with can be cathartic though. Like a supercut of all the moments spent basking in the sunset of a carefree summer.
