Issues in BL
I'm just wondering how far you can go to justify a seme's actions in a bl. I used to eat up whatever yaoi authors would write, but now that I've taken a break from reading and am coming I'm seeing so much shit that authors just let pass because the top is hot and powerful.
While its more rare, another question is a bottom's justification. Have you ever read a bl where the bottom was clearly the problem, but it was swept under the rug because whatever.

I fucking know right. I used EAT UP painter of the night and it took me an entire chapter of the seme r*ping the uke to finally see that this cannot be healthy to read for a developing brain. The way so many BL normalizes SA it's wild and very scary. But we as an audience must also love reading stories like that for it to be so popular.

I think the problem is how the story presents the characters, a story can't be good without conflict, even if it's from the main characters themselves.
Yes, have a problematic ml/mc, just show their complexity and not romanticize it

The bottom from love is an illusion pissed me off so bad that I can’t read the series even though it has tropes I would usually eat up. Tbh I don’t care about seme most times.
