Mangago's history?
Hi!! So i got a bit curious about Mangago's history in general and this is what I was able to pick up on with a couple minutes of searching and no checking to see if info was reliable ;3 Please add on if you know more as I'm pretty curious but only discovered mangago in like 2018!!

The site has been around for a long time, with trends coming and going as the years go by. For example, in the early days japanese mangas were more popular but now its korean manhwas. You can kinda tell when something was written based on the tropes and artsyle.
This site has been around for years!! If you have any more info to add such as the first account, the first manga/manhua/manhwa uploaded, trends on the site (amongst both webcomics and users), etc etc etc OR you have any corrections about anything I posted on here, please add on!! Even back when I joined around in 2018-2019, Japanese BL manga was way more popular back then. Thanks to the insane popularity Killing Stalking got, (and albeit it came out in 2016 but still) Korean manhwa got way more recognition and it pretty much jumpstarted the trend and format of manhwa's. 1 reply
holy shit i remember the july 2021 incident. it was basically poor fujoshi's/fundanshi's 9/11 cuz it wasn't just this site turning off their comments it was a ton of others too. I remember one of the rly popular ones straight up deleted the whole yaoi/shounen ai section but not yuri/shoujo ai??? it was after this i think that a bunch of the smaller...... reply
2021 was sooo dreadful omg i was so scared this site is gone and i got accustomed to not commenting so when we can actually do it again i forgot how fun it was to ask reccs and comment on latest chps reply
I remember I used this site on the family laptop way back and never registered bc then it showed like you were on a different page something about fashion. But after I bought my own laptop it was much easier after i singed up. And the 2021 war was actually scary fr everyone was saying that the creators gonna riot together and get the site taken dow...... reply
Japanese manga used to absolutely dominate this site, mainly because there weren't many popular Korean BL manhwa until the 'Great Killing Stalking Incident' of 2016. BL in Japan has been popular for a very long time compared to the very new-found popularity in Korea. You can even see how most Japanese BL are in physical form (books, magazines, etc....... reply
i start using in 2016, before we dont have ads when you dont have an account until 2017 i make an account because they started pushing the ladyfirst ad on every page. what i remembered most is every day theres a war in viewfinder comment section 1 reply
